What is the minimum age to get a license?

The minimum age is 18.

I have an oversea forklift license, can I work in NSW?

No you can’t. The rule in NSW and everywhere else in Australia is that you need to hold a current Australian forklift licence to operate a forklift.

Unfortunately, the law doesn’t approve anyone who has an overseas license.

Can I operate a forklift if my boss asks me, even though I don’t have a license?

Yes you can. However, you do need to operate it under the watchful eye of someone who holds a current forklift licence.

I don’t have a license but my senior asked me to operate a forklift, can I do that?

Again, unless you are supervised by a current license holder, you can not operate a forklift.

What is the duration of the course?

Depending upon your experience, available courses include;

Do you provide onsite training course?

We provide onsite training for companies who have the correct facilities to conduct training.

Do I have to take the refresher course?

Unless your company specifies that you need to do further training, you aren’t required to do so. However, it’s important to keep yourself up to date with the latest training to maintain safety and competence levels.

What experience do your assessors have?

We have experienced and certified assessors who have many years teaching and instructing students. All trainers have industry experience, and are qualified to train students.

Is there any particular dress that I should when I am in training?

It’s best to wear comfortable clothing. However you should not wear open shoes like sandals, thongs, crocs, etc.

You are required to wear closed shoes.

One Day Forklift Training and License Test

The popular one day forklift training course has been designed for those with minimal forklift operation experience.

This training course is beneficial for all students as it will provide you with the correct way of operating a forklift, any remove any bad habits you may have picked up. Our experienced trainers will first ask whether you have experience. Then you will get instructions and tips from our trainers.

When you set a date for forklift training, you will be provided with theory materials to prepare yourself for the licence test.

Forklift Licence Sydney LF And LO

A current licence is required if you want to operate a forklift in a warehouse as it is classified as “high risk work”.

A question we are often asked is what is the difference between an LF licence and LO licence. This is a good question as the licence you will require will depend on the type of machinery you will be operating.

The LF licence will allow you to operate any forklift except for an Order picker or stock picker style forklift. The LF is the most common type of forklift that you will typically see in a warehouse. This type of forklift is also called a counter balance forklift.

If you are interested in completing a forklift training course and yet to find work, then the LF licence is probably the licence for you. The reason is because the LF licence is the more popular type of forklift licence in Sydney and as such, more companies have a need to hire people with an LF licence.

The LO Licence will allow you to operate an Order Picker/Stock Picker type Forklift. These are are specialised. So you may see that people with forklift experience apply for training and for an LO licence if required.
